As we learned on Katie’s season, Thomas is extremely direct.
In fact, some might say Thomas’s only crime was being too honest.
So was he honest about his job?
Is Thomas Jacobs really a “Real Estate Broker?”
Yes! Unlike another Bachelor in Paradise cast member, his real estate license is active.
He appears to be a pretty successful broker at that.
According to his realtor bio: “Thomas has continued to excel among the top 3% of all real estate professionals earning his place in the coveted San Diego Association of Realtors, Circle of Excellence, year in and year out.”
Past years are hard to find, but we were able to confirm that—even with taking two months off to go get yelled at by Aaron—Thomas still made “Silver Level” in the 2020 “Circle of Excellence.”
He even had some pretty creative pandemic marketing!
One of his specialties is military relocation, probably inspired by his family history.
His grandfather was the second African American to achieve the rank of Rear Admiral in the Navy.
Because we’re used to our investigations taking a lot more time, we decided to dig into Thomas a little further. Since his real estate company is called Champion One, we took a look at his sports background. We discovered that he was a very good college basketball player.
Possibly because he’s 6’6. Has he mentioned that he’s 6’6? Because Thomas is 6’6.
Aside from his height (6’6), Thomas demonstrated a lot of determination and dedication to reach his goals. According to his former coach,
[The coach] accepted Jacobs, but told him initially that there was no scholarship. That led to Jacobs’ parents paying his tuition for a year. To save his folks money, Jacobs slept on [a teammate’s] couch.
Last season, Jacobs was the guy who came off the bench, played hard, crashed the glass, dived for loose balls.
After getting brushed off by Serena P, Thomas is going to need that determination to stay on the sand. With the girls in charge, it’s a buyer’s market.
Lastly, we’ve noticed that The Bachelorette loves former basketball players.
The casting producers definitely have a type.
